NAUM TSEITLIN

Naum Tseitlin is a recognized Soviet graphic artist and illustrator. Born in 1909 in Genichesk, Ukraine. Studied art in Moscow. The first personal exhibition took place in 1957. Naum Tseitlin is the author

of illustrations for the books of V. Mayakovsky,

S. Mikhalkov, V. Nemtsov, Grimm Brothers, Thomas Mann  etc.

Tseitlin had his own style with emphasis

on separation of the line and colour: "I refused from the traditional shadows, activating graphical elements in painting... Oil's colorfulness became inadequate

for me, and I started to use tempera for the last decade".
